HideAway explores the idea of separation. By using a 20' x 30' concrete "cave" to be a counterpoint to the rest of the home HideAway serves as a getaway and provides a place to escape.
Set in the lower level of a traditional residence, the concrete cave is wrapped in an aluminum rib cage wherein resin panels are placed inside and lit from behind. The client, a sports fanatic, can adjust the hue of the room to best represent the team he is watching at the time or to reflect the mood he wishes to create.
