There are a ton of benefits available for integrated lighting. – Automation programs can be synced with the local weather to simulate the color/tone/brightness of natural light in all areas of the home. They can also be set up to match your family’s daily routine, can be synced to voice control and/or be programmed to automatically turn off lights when you leave/arrive.
These systems can also thoughtfully automate audio/video, window shades, and more. As more devices are interconnected to a singular smart home, the possibilities become endless.
The Costs
As smart home technology advances the costs of these devices continue to become more and more affordable. However, in the modern homes we design, we strive to create holistically integrated systems with the highest quality lighting.
Our goal is to create spaces where the lighting systems seem to disappear and create a feeling of comfort and tranquility for you and your guests. Our architects work closely with specialty lighting designers and smart home automation companies to make sure our homes are set up for the technology of today and tomorrow. However, these fully integrated systems require additional labor during construction and may require specialists. For this reason, we want to set a realistic expectation that lighting systems that are both integrated into the smart home systems and integrated into the home’s overall aesthetic, will be out of the budget for our most cost effective home designs.
