STRATEGY : Developing a Plan for Presenting Architectural Projects
WHAT WE MEAN by "STRATEGY"
It's so simple, yet often overlooked, to understand who you're trying to appeal to. Nearly all architecture projects begin with an idea that needs to be conveyed to either a client, a city or the public and within that the stories we create are being told to individuals. In order to design a brand that connects with them we need to understand who they are. The results of an initial "strategy" phase can greatly alter the results of an entire project. Our initial studies explore ideal demographics, broad architectural concepts, presentation techniques, naming ideas, initial copywriting tones and more. Although this phase is more theoretical than visual, the results from our research will inform every element we design to represent the project.
AN EXAMPLE from OUR WORK
We designed the research graphic above for a young Architecture firm and first time developer. Their goal was to create a brand for their new residential building that fit in with the naming of similar projects in the area yet also had a unique identity of its own. It was important to the client that the project was linked directly to it's valuable neighborhood and would be easily found in location specific searches. This initial research and discussion helped shape the entire brand design strategy.
