Similar in concept to our "TableTop" project, the portion of flat roof at the rear of the existing home was used as a platform for the new addition to be placed upon. The block of new program was cantilevered over the side yard, leaving the remaining portion of the existing flat roof for use as a terrace off of the new master suite.

A delicate shading trellis was used to block the southern summer exposure yet still capture winter sun, while simultaneously providing privacy for the master terrace.
